Lorry Enters Tea Shop, Kills 4

A lorry lost its control at the midnight these Monday, and hit a tragic accident, in Gangarampur town. The lorry moved into a tea shop, in front of Gangarampur Purnabhava Bridge; killing five people including four Civic Volunteers, and injuring several. The injured were rushed into Gangarampur Super Specialty Hospital.
Locals protested against the accident and blocked the road. An activist informed, “The driver of the lorry must be drunk or sleeping, and had escaped after the accident.” The protest was called off after police intervention. The deceased Civic Volunteers were identified as Tofazzal Mia, Aion Das and Prakash Barman, and one unknown. And, the other person was identified as Benu Haldar. Hospital management informed that several injured are critical, and the death toll could rise further.
